TCM vs Western diagnosis. What is this?

Median rhomboid glossitis has also been strongly linked with the fungal infection caused by Candida albicans, where the tongue has an ovoid patch just before the entry into the Oesophagus. Sometimes a flat-raised area can also be discerned. This condition is reportedly thrice as common in men as in women. The exact cause for this occurrence is not known, although hormonal links have been suggested. These tongue abnormalities are manifested as a round or rhomboid-shaped patch of smooth mucosa that lacks both papillae and taste buds and is typically located in the midline just anterior to the foramen cecum, as in this case. It is thought to arise from an embryologic defect. If the lesion is symptomatic or atypical in appearance, a biopsy is warranted to rule out carcinoma. Otherwise, the lesion is benign and requires no treatment (http://www.medindia.net/patients/patientinfo/ci=11042010&query=TOC)
